Lists with This Book. I’m not sure how to rate this book. I had to read it for my Language class and even though it has many important concepts I did not enjoy it a bit. The author introduced those concepts in such a confusing way that I actually had to ask my professor to clarify a lot of things because the language was not clear and I even felt lost at some points. Plus, Chapter 4 was unbelievably dull. I’m giving it four stars not because I really liked it as goodreads indicates but because I think it’s a book that I’m not sure how h.g.widdowsoh rate this book.
I’m giving it four stars not because I really liked it as goodreads indicates but because I think it’s a book that gathers the most significant notions about linguistics in less than pages. I learned a lot Oct 04, Micheal rated it really liked it Shelves: Tact, adequate and yet as the author himself said in the introduction; makes it more accessible to others rather than simplifying it and I think for such a complicated subject is it rather a fair thing to do.
While overall I enjoyed the book; the beginning part was a little linguisticcs to me ,however as I h.g.wuddowson it was resolved in the later chapters.
linguisticx The list of recommended readings in the end is brilliant and so carefully chosen I think the author has done a great job. Feb 02, Jan Oko rated it really liked it Shelves: Great book, although quite challenging as an introduction to linguistics.
